Hi everyone💃💃, how are you doing? Anything interesting happening in your life lately? Feel free to let me know by leaving a comment down below🥰🥰

Today I would love to share with you guys about Tourette Syndrome. Actually, I do not know much about everything related to this disease because I have not done any in-depth study about it yet. But, I still want to share on my blog because although it is not too focused on every fact I want to share about this disease, at least the readers on this blog can add their new knowledge about this disease right??

WHAT IS TOURETTE SYNDROME??

Tourette syndrome is a disorder that involves repetitive movements or unwanted sounds (tics) that can't be easily controlled. Usually, this disease starts at the age of 2 to 15 years and is more common in boys than girls. For instance, they might repeatedly blink their eyes, shrug their shoulders or blurt out unusual sounds or offensive words.

WHAT CAN BE DONE TO CURE THIS DISEASE??

Although there's no cure for Tourette syndrome, treatments are available. Many people with Tourette syndrome don't need treatment when symptoms aren't troublesome. Tics often lessen or become controlled after the teen years. However, if this syndrome is so severe that it endangers the person, there are several ways that can be done such as:

i.Psychotherapy
The therapy that the patient can undergo includes cognitive behavioral therapy. In a psychotherapy session, the therapist may also use several methods of assistance such as meditation, hypnosis, breathing or relaxation technique.

ii.Medication intake
Until now there is no medicine to treat Tourette syndrome but there are several medicine that can help patients to control tics such as, antipsychotic drugs like haloperidol, antidepressants or anticonvulsant drugs.

iii.Deep brain stimulation
This procedure uses electrodes implanted into the patient’s brain to stimulate deep brain reaction. DBS is only recommend for patients with severe symptoms and cannot be handled by the therapist.

WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THIS SYNDROME??

Until this day, there is no exact study of why a person suffers from this syndrome. However, there are some things related to why this disease occurs such as there is a problem with the nervous system of the brain, family genetics and problems that occur by a mother during childbirth such as stress or the process of childbirth occur over a long period of time.

WHAT ARE THE METHODS TO MOTIVATE PATIENTS??

1. Each individual should be more sensitive and always strive to obtain relevant information to help people with this disease.
2. Always give them support and encouragement in every thing they want to do.
3. Disseminate information on each platform about this syndrome so that more individuals know more about the presence of the disease.

Last but not least, I hope readers on this blog can gain a little bit of knowledge from my sharing. Any shortcomings or errors please forgive me. Stay safe and take care everyone💚💚
